Avira with Windows-7-compatible IT security solutions on show at it-sa 2009
Mon, 28 September 2009
Second focus topic: Comprehensive protection for web and mail traffic
Tettnang, 28 September 2009 – Avira is planning to show its extensive product portfolio for protecting against viruses and threats from the Internet on stand 6-318 at the it-sa 2009 IT security show, which is to be held in Nuremberg from 13 to 15 October 2009. As well as virus protection for Windows environments, Avira will also be showing its security solutions for Linux/Unix, as well as its recently revised gateway solutions. The Avira AntiVir MailGate and Avira AntiVir WebGate Suite products are aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, as well as businesses at enterprise level, and feature excellent detection and protection performance.
Avira’s virus guards already have their shields up at gateway level and intervene before harmful content can actually penetrate a company’s network. Thus, Avira AntiVir WebGate Suite uses configurable black and white listing to include or exclude specific domains from its checks. This solution uses the associated URL database to recognize phishing, malware, spam and fraudulent URLs automatically. AntiVir MailGate secures email communications for businesses by checking inbound and outbound messages on the mail server as they happen. This enables even small and medium-sized businesses to protect their entire network by promptly recognizing possible threats.
Safety first: obligations on training institutions
Companies are obliged to protect all their employees – another reason to ensure that systems operate in a controlled fashion and that staff do not come in contact with content that could threaten their computers and the data they contain. In particular, training institutions are required to guarantee that material of a dubious nature, such as pornography or other content harmful to young people, cannot be accessed via the corporate network: such content should not be allowed to reach the individual computers, but must be filtered out in advance. Avira’s AntiVir MailGate and Avira AntiVir WebGate solutions can be relied on to work in the background, sorting out all mail and web content that infringe the companywide rules.
Legal expert Dr. Wolfgang Hackenberg will speak on this topic at the it-sa on 14 October at 11 a.m. in the Red Forum, providing further information and explaining the background:
