Avira supports the SAP Global Security Alliance as a new cooperative member
Tettnang, 20 September 2006 – a strong team: hand in hand, the members of the SAP Global Security Alliance want to offer their customers a wide range of solutions for secure methods of access. Now the German IT security expert Avira is also involved as an expert partner in the Global Security Alliance.
The Global Security Alliance currently consists of 17 leading companies from the fields of security, accounting and consultancy. In addition to Avira, for example, BMC Software, Eurosec, IBM and Siemens want to support SAP customers in the rapid implementation of the regulations of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. However, those wishing to belong to the security alliance, founded in 2005, have to meet a number of strict requirements. For example, SAP Consulting checks whether new applicants are appropriate for the team and can offer the customer a complete solution that will remain suitable and valid in the long term. “All alliance partners are checked for a high degree of expertise, employment of best practices and fast delivery of high quality solutions. We are naturally very proud to now be a part of this”, explains Gernot Hacker, the Vice President of Avira.
Together, SAP and Avira are a good team: the security expert from Tettnang is a proven software partner of SAP AG: at the beginning of 2004 Avira launched the world’s first SAP-certified virus scanner. The AntiVir Virus Scan Adapter ensures the necessary virus protection for the technology platform SAP NetWeaver.
And what does the SAP Global Security Alliance mean for the customer? The cooperation gives SAP Consulting access to bundled expert know-how of the alliance partners. This should facilitate the selection of the lowest cost solution and offer selected products as a package.
