Security solutions tailored to customer demands

Tettnang, 1 April 2005 – Innovations in the areas of mobile security and managed security services add to the product portfolio of H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH, supplier of cross-system business security solutions. The solutions presented on the CeBIT are available right now.
“We’ve presented our novelties on the CeBIT with great success. Several very positive talks to potential customers and partners emphasize that we exactly commit ourselves to the demands of our customers with the enhancement of our product portfolio,” notes Gernot Hacker, Senior Security Consultant of H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH.
Concerning mobile security, H+BEDV now offers a product for PDAs based on Windows CE; in September further ones will follow for the operating systems Palm OS and Symbian. A special version of the proven AntiVir malware detection engine was developed with AntiVir Mobile Security, which can detect executable malware on the PDA. It only occupies approx. 150 KB main storage and does herewith constitute one of the smallest but most powerful search engines on the market. The installation and the updates are effected through the ActiveSync process by synchronizing data between the PDA and the PC. Nevertheless, the synchronization is not only one simple possibility to update data, it also is a gateway for malware. Therefore, AntiVir Mobile Security offers the possibility to make an automatic search after each synchronization run.
AntiVir Security Consulting belongs to the business area of managed security services. This consulting offer is available since the CeBIT, to support companies with the implementation of their security guidelines. H+BEDV supplies comprehensive and independent support by means of an audit – an analysis of the current security structure – including the development of an integral security concept and support, even after finalization of the project.
