Avira CIA Commander 2 helps with computer failures thanks to fast, uncomplicated data and system recovery
Tettnang, 12 Juli 2006 – Avira now offers more than just malware protection: the IT security specialist is expanding its product portfolio with the Avira CIA Commander 2 recovery tool, a comprehensive tool for immediate emergency access to Windows installations. With this software, Avira is retaining not only the name but also the complete technology of datapol. With this step, Avira is now able to also offer security software for back-up and disaster recovery alongside its well-known security solution AntiVir.
Forgotten passwords, bluescreens, servers and hard drive crashes or virus infections – the causes of an interruption of business operations are many and diverse. What all disruptive factors have in common is that they occur suddenly and have to be remedied just as quickly. As a friend in need, users have the comprehensive Avira CIA Commander 2 at their side. The emergency tool helps both to diagnose and to eliminate the sources of errors. If a system failure occurs, for example, the Recovery CIA Commander boots defective or no longer accessible Windows systems from a CD to a Windows-like, graphical user interface. This process is carried out within a few seconds of start-up and even retrieves information that you thought was lost forever.
The software also takes control of user administration in an emergency. Based on a specially developed mini operating system, full access to all Microsoft file systems is possible, including the NTFS and the registry. In this way, passwords can be easily unblocked and overwritten or unknown passwords backed up or recovered. The scope of functions of the Avira CIA Commander 2 is extended by further tools such as the Services Manager, a detailed error log and a text editor as well as the possibility to back-up data on CD or DVD.
“Digital threats are becoming more and more diverse, although the attacks are usually carried out specifically. It is therefore all the more important to have a comprehensive security concept that, in addition to preventive protection measures, also contains methods for back-up and disaster recovery”, explains Tjark Auerbach, the CEO of Avira GmbH. “Our aim is to provide users with the relevant functions from one source. As with all Avira products, the Avira CIA Commander 2 can be quickly integrated in the IT infrastructure without impairing the performance of the systems.”
CIA Commander 2 is now available from authorized Avira dealers for EUR 399, 00. Details are already available at http://www.avira.com/en/products/recovery.html
