Update for the security gap from a Word document is now available

21 May 2006 – Avira provides an engine update which detects the exploit cod as being "HEUR/OLE.HiddenEXE". By the next time the Avira AntiVir engine will be started it will update automatically.
Current additions:
22.05.2006: Besides the update of the Avira Antivir engine, Avira also provides a VDF update. The VDF assures the detection of the files already detected which have been generated through the security gap "HEUR/OLE.HiddenEXE".
23.05.2006: Avira is among the first IT-security providers that already added a generic detection of the word exploit code to its scan engine. In this manner, the Avira customers are completely safe against all future variants that will use the same word vulnerability.
