Avira AntiVir Mobile

Support for SmartPhones running on Windows Mobile 6
Avira AntiVir Mobile now supports devices running Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition. Those devices are called Smartphones. Smartphones do not have a touch screen but are operated by keys only.

Guard: Improved speed of on-access scanner
A file caching system has been added to the system, i.e. files that have been scanned are saved in a list. A file that is on that list is not scanned again unless it is opened with write-access.
Furthermore the option “Scan executable files only” has been set as default.
Both changes result in a dramatically increased speed.

Guard: removed interactive mode
The interactive mode has been removed from the Guard so that Guard now offers an automatic mode only.
Enhanced stability because interactive mode caused issues especially on TouchFlo 3D environment

Split up process exclusion and file exclusion for AVGuard
In the old version process and file exclusion dialog were combined. The process exclusion and file exclusion options have now been split up to make the operation of the product easier.

Avira AntiVir SharePoint

Created a complete new product AntiVir SharePoint 3
AntiVir SharePoint 3 has been moved to the existing AV9 architecture and now makes use of the new Avira AntiVir Engine (AVE 2) which has been natively integrated. Thus the performance, stability and detection rate of the product could again be greatly improved.

GUI Changes

The GUI has been adjusted in order to support the new settings
Logfile settings have been added to the GUI
The Configuration Tabs have been adjusted in order to support AVE service and new Windows Updater

Avira AntiVir ISA Server

New AntiVir ISA Server GUI

Avira AntiVir ISA Server 3 comes with a completely new GUI which is completely integrated into the MS ISA Server MMC. Full remote support is available as well as MS ISA server array support.

With version 3 the system requirements for Avira AntiVir ISA Server (Webfilter Plug-In and GUI) have been changed as follows

Avira AntiVir ISA Server 3 supports Microsoft ISA Server Enterprise Edition in cluster or array configuration.

Improved User Notification Templates

The notification pages and blocking pages have a new design now. They can also be customized by the user now.

Added product update

Avira AntiVir ISA server 3 now offers the same update option as AntiVir server or AV 9 products, i.e. it allows to differentiate between updates of engine and VDF only, updates of engine and VDF plus checking for product updates and informing the user or automatic engine and VDF updates plus checking for product updates and install them automatically during maintenance interval.

Improved time out prevention

Time-Out prevention has been changed to a rule-based system allowing a much more dynamic approach based on settings like browser type, file type, file size, client platform.

Avira AntiVir MailGate / Avira AntiVir MailGate Suite

Reporting : Statistics in database

The Q3-2009 version of MailGate and MailGate Suite are now able to keep statistical information in a database. Thus allowing the customers to get an overview about the number and type of emails MailGate has scanned or blocked and how often they have been scanned.

Sort listing in queue

Listing of rejected emails in the queue up until now happened in an unspecified order. Now queue listings can be sorted by the CTIM field in the queue file. CTIM is the timestamp when the mail was received by MailGate.

SLES 11 and Ubuntu 9 have been added to the system requirements as newly supported operating systems.

Avira AntiVir WebGate / Avira AntiVir WebGate Suite

Configurable trickling

WebGate / WebGate Suite now allows a much more specific configuration of trickling by allowing trickling for domains and trickling for file – types.

Integrate WebCat

WebGate / WebGate suite now comes with the integrated webcat database. This means that in addition to the already implemented “Webprotector” content-filtering WebGate/Suite is now also able to use the webcat database entries to filter requests to websites. Thus adding enhanced content filtering especially with regard to Phishing-, Malware-, Spam- and Fraud-URLs

Black- and Whitelisting

The new Q3-2009 WebGate / WebGate Suite version will allow the user to specify lists of domains for which requests will not be scanned and also domains for which all requests will be blocked.
