Note: You can run scanner commands, only if you have a valid license for our Server or Workstation product!
Local command line:
Starting with verison 3, the Command Line Scanner is executed with "avscan", instead of "antivir".
Example:
$ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avscan -z -s /home/user
To display the help text about the supported parameters:
$ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avscan --help
... or you can find them in the user's guide on our website or in the installation kit, under /doc.
For the avscan scanner to run, the service avguard has to be started. To start the service:
$ /usr/lib/Antivir/avguard start
If you did not install DazukoFS, you can set the AVGuard to run in OnDemand Management mode (without on-access scanning), by editing the following line in the configuration file /etc/avira/avguard.conf :
OndemandMgmt yes
Then you have to restart AVGuard:
$ /usr/lib/AntiVir/avguard start
Or in SMC:
Right-click on computer/ group/ Security Environment and select Configuration - Avira AntiVir Server/Workstation 3 (UNIX) - Configure.
Running a scan command in SMC
